This was last August. We had just moved out of our first neighborhood where our best friends also lived. I took this picture from their back porch during one of their many cookouts. This one was kid-free and we had time to stop and take in the fun of having good friends, living in a beautiful spot and the stillness of the evening on an August Texas night. I can almost still hear the crickets chirping.
Not too long after this picture was taken, we found out that they were moving too...three states away. Now we catch up through the wonders of Skype and Facebook, but I can't help but miss those quiet nights on their back porch. How do you stay in touch with friends who move away? Where is your favorite friend getaway?
