Spring is Coming!

Can you feel it? Have you noticed?

Spring is making an entrance. I had somehow totally missed it until this week.

The beauties we planted long before the snow arrived, reminded me that the sun is on its way; winter is almost gone.

Barely two and half weeks ago my grandmother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Our own personal winter.

This morning she went home. Her spring has arrived.

If she hadn't known to expect the sun, she would have been terrified. If seeds of faith hadn't been planted in her life, and subsequently in ours, we wouldn't have been able to face this winter.

But her legacy of determined faith helped us spring forth and rejoice with her today in the midst of so much pain.

In the midst of heartache, we cling to the One who calls us by name.

We miss you, Gigi. Thank you for planting seeds of faith in our hearts.

Surprise Bulbs

Before these beauties decided to show themselves in my garden this Spring, I think only one other bulb in my entire life had actually done what bulbs are supposed to do. Granted, I lived in the desert. Bulbs don't typically like the desert, from what I hear.

I decided to give them another chance and picked up a bag of bulbs from Home Depot at the last possible planting minute. They were on clearance for $5 so I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad that I did.

There are probably 25 of these beauties in my garden this year. Every time another one pops up I can't help but squeal.

Spring...

It's here!

When we bought our home I l-o-v-e-d that Dogwood trees were already planted. I grew up in the desert so I was raised to greatly value trees because we simply didn't have any. When we looked at this house and I realized I could have trees and flowers at the same time?! I was sold.

Oh, and I liked the floor plan, too.

{I'm linking to Tidy Mom's linky party...because I am LOVING that my yard is no longer brown!}
